Lex Marinos at Hurstville Library

Join well known actor Lex Marinos at Hurstville Library when he introduces his recently published book, Blood and Circuses An Irresponsible Memoir.
Best known for his role as Bruno Bertolucci in Kingswood Country, in his early years on TV, and more recently for his powerful performance as the majestic patriarch, Manolis, in The Slap , Lex Marinos' career has been a 40-journey of survival in the entertainment business.
His memoir, is a vivid account of a life lived to the full. Growing up as a young Greek Australian boy, whose family were members of the 'milk bar aristocracy' in Wagga Wagga, Lex dream't of making his life in the theatre.
As expected of a memoir describing the wild days of the 70s cultural revolution, sex, drugs and rock and roll just had to be involved. Lex also takes us back to the hippie era of university, heady nights working on radio Double J, precarious road-trips around Australia in travelling theatre groups and happy memories as a sports commentator.
Lex is also a director, a writer on the arts and culture diversity in Australia, and an all round media personality .

  1. Books serve as a great platform for people of all ages to gain knowledge from and also to simply improve one’s vocabulary. Sadly, with the endless advancement of technology, there has been an increasing trend of children hogging their electronic gadgets with fun games and applications instead. Here in Sydney we have a few book releases and showcases as well but I guess they are probably not as popular as the launch of a latest device.
