Council goes to Uni

What do you get when you cross Hurstville, Rockdale, Shoalhaven, Camden and Wollongong City Councils with a university?

A consortium ready to crank up the research dial to support the business of local government.

Our own Hurstville City Council staff are presently engaged in research over three years with the University of Wollongong (UOW):

· Careering pathing in local government - Manager Human Resources
· Measuring the success of cultural precincts in local government - Manager Library Museum & Entertainment
· Business continuity in local government - Chief Information Officer
Associate Professor Andrew Sense from UOW’s School of Management and Marketing considers the consortium a perfect opportunity for the nominated councils and their staff to complete a Masters by Research or a PhD through UOW on projects that are of strategic importance to a council or to the local government sector.

Judging by the initial work being produced by the twelve researchers, he’s not wrong!
