Share an evening at the library with zookeeper and author Terry Boylan who has just released his first book The Keepers and the Kept: Confessions of a Zookeeper. Terry has worked as a zookeeper for more than 40 years at Taronga Zoo, Melbourne and in London. In his 'zoological memoir' he lightheartedly recounts life at a zoo from a zookeeper's perspective.
Interesting and sometimes bizarre human characters, the day to day running of a zoo and of course the humorous and heart-warming escapades of the animals will appeal to all. Terry also reveals through his anecdotes how modern zoos have developed into the professinal organizations they are today.Thursday 21st July @ 7pm

"While there is no doubt animals can behave in the strangest ways, the oddest creatures in the zoo are still the ones that come through the turnstiles." - Terry Boylan
