Lunchtime invitation to hear Harry Dillon co-author of a new book Macquarie: From Colony to Country
Why not do something a little different at lunchtime this Thursday. Come along to Hurstville City Library to hear Harry Dillon co-author of a new book on Governor Lachlan Macquarie.
Macquarie a familiar name to most Australians is the subject of a new book by Harry Dillon and Peter Butler. Charting the eventful rule of Macquarie, governor of NSW from 1810 to late 1821 this new biography is a reminder of his importance to modern Australians. It is a fascinating story of the genesis of a nation and of an extraordinary individual who refused to be confounded by the odds stacked against him. Harry Dillon is a lecturer in Journalism with the School of Communication at Charles Sturt University and a former journalist and broadcast producer with the ABC.
Hurstville City Library, cnr Queens Rd & Dora St.
